Diagnostics in Neuropsychiatry is an international peer-reviewed open access journal publishing articles that document the application of objective measures of brain and behaviour to advance knowledge that will help define future brain-based diagnostic systems. The journal will publish original articles, reviews, concise research reports, and letters to the editor.

Submissions on all aspects of neuropsychiatric illness (spanning molecular, cellular, neural systems, cognitive, behavioural) will be welcome so long as the underlying measurements are used to define dimensional or categorical indicators that span existing diagnostic boundaries or define biologically distinctive subgroups within current categories. Neuropsychiatric syndromes are defined broadly, spanning psychotic, mood, anxiety, social, communicative, and cognitive disorders. Articles may be primarily descriptive, experimental, or involve interventions (pharmacological or nonpharmacological) to provide insights into individual differences in, or mechanisms underlying the measures of interest. The journal will be published entirely online and articles will be rapidly available soon after acceptance.
